Choose for the task
Start with whether the job is finding a leak, checking a cap, refilling a drained system or addressing a restricted heater core. Mityvac MV4560 uses a hand pump and adapters for suitable pressure and cap tests. OTC 7991 offers a universal-fit approach but has explicit vehicle exclusions. Mityvac MV4533 uses compressed air to create vacuum and draw coolant into a suitable system; Lisle 24980 instead provides a filling funnel and a 19-piece connection kit. Lisle 60900 is a water-powered heater-hose backflush attachment, not another leak tester. These roles can complement one another, but a vacuum-hold observation alone does not replace every required pressure check. Choose against the filler connection, vehicle procedure, compressor access and planned work rather than buying every tool shown.
What to check before buying
Work only under the temperature and pressure conditions specified by the vehicle and tool instructions. Never open a hot pressurized system to fit these tools. Adapter fit, seals, coolant compatibility and collection arrangements must be checked. A universal adapter description is not universal vehicle coverage; OTC excludes Saturn, Kia and Jeep plastic-reservoir applications for the 7991.
