Access is the upgrade
The 15-piece set covers metric 8–22 mm with six-point universal impact sockets. The joint permits a different approach where the drive cannot align straight with the fastener. Check the combined socket and joint envelope first. The tool must still engage correctly and operate within the manufacturer instructions; articulation does not make any angle suitable.
Impact material and drive compatibility
GEARWRENCH lists chrome-molybdenum steel and a 3/8-inch drive. This differs from the manual-only 80742 bit set and chrome hand sockets elsewhere in the catalogue. If the impact tool has a different drive size, assess the complete rated accessory chain rather than assuming an adapter is a neutral addition.
Straight and deep sockets retain their purpose
SUNEX 2569 offers standard and deep straight sockets in 1/2-inch drive with a different size list. Where a straight approach is possible, a universal socket may add unnecessary complexity. Where a protruding stud requires depth, the universal set may not solve the problem. Compare the actual obstruction rather than ranking these sets solely by piece count.
Storage and final tightening
Keep the joints and drive components inspected and follow manufacturer care instructions. The supplied case helps retain the size selection, but a damaged joint should not be kept in service because the socket itself appears sound. As with other impact equipment, complete specified final tightening using the correct calibrated method; the articulating socket does not establish a torque value.
