A different diameter from 63600

The verified range is 3-1/8 to 3-7/8 inches, compared with the smaller 2.5–3.125-inch range of Lisle 63600. Check the installed filter rather than assuming a larger wrench is more universal. The boundary sizes and available contact still need correct engagement under the manufacturer instructions.

The drive path is part of compatibility

The wrench uses 3/8-inch drive, so evaluate the space for the jaws, square drive, ratchet and any extension. A filter hidden behind adjacent components may need a different approved access method. Do not force a partial jaw engagement or work blindly where the tool could contact another component.

Use gripping jaws for removal only

Steel jaws grip the used spin-on filter. They are not the prescribed method for tightening a replacement and can deform a shell. Follow the filter and vehicle instructions for the new seal, installation and leak checks. A stubborn old filter does not justify applying the same high gripping force to the replacement.

Choose geometry rather than buying all filter tools

Lisle 13270 addresses matching hex caps, while 63600 serves smaller compatible spin-on filters. These are not three quality levels of the same tool. For an apprentice list, identify the engine and filter styles actually encountered and reuse available workshop tools. Add the 63250 when its diameter and access fill a real gap.
