Standard and deep solve different access jobs
The 43-piece set combines standard and deep six-point impact sockets, with the documented sizes 9–24, 26, 27 and 30 mm. A deep socket clears protruding studs where a standard one cannot, while a shorter socket may preserve clearance behind the impact wrench. Select the depth for the geometry instead of automatically using the longest socket.
Do not overlook the size skips
This is not an uninterrupted 9–30 mm collection. Missing 25, 28 and 29 mm sockets matter if the vehicles in your bay require those sizes. Check training lists and recurring service jobs before purchase, then budget for any legitimate gap. A near-size socket is not an acceptable solution for a fastener that needs a missing metric size.
Match the whole drive system
The verified set is intended for 1/2-inch impact work, unlike the chrome TEKTON and GEARWRENCH hand-drive kits. Check socket seating and clearance before powered removal and follow the impact tool’s instructions. Extensions and the universal joint change the working envelope and deserve the same inspection as the sockets. Final tightening to a vehicle specification remains a torque-wrench task.
Compare coverage with access
GEARWRENCH 84918N adds universal-joint metric sockets on a 3/8-inch drive; it solves a different access problem and is not a direct replacement for this standard/deep 1/2-inch set. If your work is largely manual and smaller, SKT15311 may be the better first socket purchase. Buy the SUNEX when the drive, sizes and powered workflow are required, then add specialist access pieces as actual jobs justify them.
