A mirror changes the viewing angle

The 2.25-inch round head lets the user view a surface that is outside a direct sight line when there is room to position it. The adjustable head is the practical mechanism for finding that angle. It cannot see through an obstruction or enter every cavity, so identify the viewing path before expecting it to solve an inspection problem.

Reach without assuming pocket fit

Ullman lists a 36.375-inch extended length for HTC-2. Extended reach is useful around larger assemblies but does not establish the collapsed size or convenience in a small pouch. Check current dimensions before a pocket-specific purchase. The selected single-tool destination should be verified rather than a multi-pack with a similar photo.

Light remains necessary

A mirror redirects a view but supplies no illumination of its own. Pair it with an appropriate light, avoiding glare that obscures the surface. Streamlight 66118 suits close aiming while a broad work light covers a larger area. If the target cannot be illuminated or the mirror cannot be positioned, a suitable inspection camera may be a different requirement.

Viewing is separate from retrieval

HT-2 retrieves appropriate ferrous items; HTC-2 helps see them. The similar model names should not lead to a wrong-product order. Keep the mirror clean and protect its surface in storage. It is a useful small addition to the mechanic kit, but not an instrument for measuring a hidden clearance or documenting a defect photographically.
