Start with the fault evidence and engine service information. A compression tester compares suitable gasoline-engine cylinders under the required test conditions. A leak-down tester instead uses regulated air and correct engine positioning to help investigate leakage paths. Vacuum and low-pressure gauges answer other questions, while a fuel-pressure kit must match the connection and specified pressure range. Code readers, electrical instruments and inspection cameras can provide supporting evidence. The Lisle 51450 is included only as an optional mechanical repair tool when an appropriate harmonic-damper operation follows diagnosis; it does not perform an engine test. Select the relevant equipment rather than treating all these methods as interchangeable.
Check the limits
These gasoline and low-pressure instruments do not establish compatibility with diesel common rail or high-pressure direct injection. Leak-down testing can turn an engine if the setup is wrong; use the vehicle and tester procedures. Match spark-plug thread adapters, ignition/fuel disabling requirements and expected values to the engine. The presence of a code or one abnormal reading does not by itself identify a failed component.
A compact OBDII/EOBD reader for engine-emissions codes, live data and readiness checks. It makes sense as a basic diagnostic tool alongside a wider workshop kit.
This covers engine/emissions OBDII/EOBD functions. Choose a supported all-system or bidirectional tool when the job requires ABS, SRS, transmission or active tests.
A cable-connected reader for engine fault codes, emissions readiness and supported live data. It is a useful alternative to the FOXWELL NT301 when a basic OBDII tool covers the job.
This is the AL519, not AL619 or a bidirectional all-system tablet. Confirm OBDII compliance; it does not provide universal ABS, airbag or service-reset access.
A handheld diagnostic scanner for owners and workshop users who want fault-code information and supported bidirectional testing without a tablet-style setup. Vehicle coverage and available tests determine how useful it will be in your bay.
Use the manufacturer coverage checker for the exact year, make, model and function; the advertised reset list is not universal vehicle coverage.
A wireless diagnostic tablet for moving beyond basic engine-code reading into supported vehicle systems, live data and active tests. Check the coverage of the exact vehicles and functions you need before choosing it.
Confirm US activation, VIN-specific functions, secure-gateway fees and renewal terms for the selected seller; accessory support does not mean those accessories are included.
The LSB2 connects a compatible phone to supported OBD2 functions through the BlueDriver app. It suits phone-based fault investigation where the exact vehicle is covered; keep its hardware generation distinct from Pro Next-Gen and check enhanced functions before buying.
Confirm exact LSB2 generation, supported vehicles and app requirements; do not silently substitute Pro NextGen.

An automotive multimeter kit for electrical fault-finding at sensors, wiring, batteries and other vehicle circuits. The supplied probes and accessories matter as much as the meter when deciding whether the kit suits your diagnostic work.
Check that the offer includes the automotive kit accessories, rather than the meter alone. Training and the correct leads remain essential; the CAT rating alone does not establish suitability for EV traction-battery work.
A battery and system tester for checking starting batteries and investigating charging or cranking concerns. Use the correct battery type and rating settings before interpreting a result.
Requires a starting-battery rating such as CCA/CA; not a general lithium or high-voltage traction-battery tester.
The PP3LS01 combines a Power Probe III with the lead accessories needed to reach and test suitable vehicle circuits. Its powered testing makes it useful for trained electrical diagnosis, but applying battery voltage to an unsuitable module or signal circuit can cause damage.
Power injection can damage modules; circuit limits and training matter
A spark-plug socket set for compatible plug sizes and access arrangements. Check socket fit, retention and reach against the engine before choosing the set.
Does not cover 13/16-inch or 14 mm school/vehicle needs. 9/16 inch is not an exact 14 mm substitute. Do not claim a complete ignition-service kit.
A feeler-gauge set for checking suitable specified gaps and clearances. Use the blade thickness and measurement method called for by the service procedure.
Check the full blade range against your course or vehicle requirements. This is a conventional feeler-gauge set rather than the 68150 go/no-go model; it does not extend to 0.040 inch.
The 5606 provides a 0–300 psi compression gauge, hose and thread adapters for compatible gasoline-engine spark-plug openings. It supports cylinder-to-cylinder testing, but it is not a diesel tester and results must be interpreted using the engine's test conditions and specifications.
Gasoline adapter coverage; not 5606-DG or diesel high-pressure testing
The 5609 applies regulated compressed air through compatible spark-plug adapters to investigate cylinder leakage. It complements compression testing by helping locate a leak path; correct piston position and control of engine rotation are part of the required procedure.
Requires compressed air and correct engine positioning
The 5613 reads manifold vacuum and low fuel pressure on separate scales in one gauge. It suits appropriate vacuum and low-pressure diagnostic work, not modern high-pressure direct-injection or diesel rails.
Not direct-injection fuel-rail or common-rail diesel testing
The 5630 provides a 0–100 psi fuel-pressure gauge with brass fittings and a pressure-relief valve. Choose it only for systems and connections covered by its instructions; its range does not establish compatibility with high-pressure direct injection.
Never infer direct-injection high-pressure compatibility
A slim penlight for looking into confined engine-bay, cabin and under-vehicle spaces. Its pocket size makes it a useful companion to a larger work light rather than the only lighting in the bay.
A compact black AAA penlight for close inspection. The stated output and runtime are manufacturer figures, rather than our own measurements.
A cordless underhood light for illuminating the engine bay during inspection and service. Check the mounting arrangement, vehicle opening and battery requirements before buying the bare tool.
The -20 offer is the bare underhood light. Budget for a compatible M12 battery and charger, and check that the hooks fit the vehicle.
A telescoping magnetic pickup tool for retrieving suitable ferrous items from awkward spaces. It is a useful small addition for dropped fasteners that remain visible or can be located safely.
Check that the selected model is HT-2. Its magnetic pickup claim depends on the object and contact conditions and is not a rating for lifting equipment.
The yellow 68750 Dualie 3AA package combines separate spot and flood beams with three alkaline batteries. Its hazardous-location certification is conditional on the stated configuration and instructions; it should not be substituted with a magnetic-clip or different battery variant without checking that approval.
Yellow battery-included package; hazardous-location conditions are specific
The GIC5-27C kit combines a 5-inch display with an 11.5-foot camera cable, recording storage and a 12V battery and charger. It is useful for documenting accessible inspection spaces, but its 8.3 mm head must fit the opening and the cable's IP67 rating does not apply to the entire tool.
US battery/charger package probe size bend and fluids limits
The 51450 is a compact mechanical harmonic-damper pulley puller with application-specific jaws, spacers and rods. It belongs with pullers and engine mechanical service, rather than diagnostic test gauges, and its fit must be checked for the engine.
