Where it fits in a carpenter kit
DeWalt DCW600B brings the compact-router role to existing 20V MAX battery users. Its documented variable-speed dial, depth ring, LEDs and electronic brake are useful configuration details for suitable edge work. They are not our measurements of finish quality or stopping time. The B model is the bare-tool purchase. A buyer starting from zero needs to include compatible power equipment rather than comparing this body price with a ready-to-use corded router.
Configuration and alternatives
Choose cordless movement when it removes a repeated cable or outlet problem, not merely because it is the newer format. DWP611 can be a practical powered-bench alternative, and Bosch's combo is relevant where a different base and supported cutting requirement exists. Check each bit's size and permitted speed, and ensure the work can be held securely. A cordless router still has extraction and accessory needs; removing the power cable does not make the entire station independent of supporting equipment.
Spend on a complete working setup
Start with the routing operations and compatible bits, then price the complete base and guidance arrangement. Corded compact equipment can be sufficient at a powered bench, while existing battery ownership can favor mobile work. A larger combo is worth considering when fixed and plunge operations recur. Accessories, workholding and dust connections can matter more to the finished job than another maximum-horsepower label on the motor.
