Where this clamp earns its place

Jorgensen 33424 is the 24-inch medium-duty E-Z HOLD, not the shorter 33412 shown on some family pages. Its opening can address a reach problem that a 12-inch fitting clamp cannot solve. The manufacturer documents a 3-3/8-inch reach and 400-pound force. Compare those dimensions with the real assembly and protective blocks before treating the number as sufficient.

Size and contact arrangement

The maker describes conversion to spreading and joining compatible clamps for a greater opening. Those features need the documented arrangement; they do not establish identical stiffness or holding conditions in every configuration. For precision case assembly, compare Bessey's parallel-jaw format instead of using advertised force as the sole ranking. We have not measured either clamp's deflection or repeatable holding performance.

Choose a useful starter set

A staged purchase starts with the openings needed on recurring fitting work. Add this longer clamp when short clamps repeatedly miss the assembly, then buy enough units to hold it properly. Larger panels may call for pipe fixtures or another supported station. Check the actual model and number supplied in the offer; one long clamp and a pair of shorter clamps have different practical coverage.
