Where this clamp earns its place
KHC-PREMIUM is Kreg's Classic three-inch face clamp, with a documented capacity up to two-and-three-quarter inches. Its role is holding suitable joint faces flush during assembly, not spanning a cabinet or pressing a broad glue-up. This is the manually adjusted Classic model. Do not assume the automatic adjustment found on another Kreg clamp is included because both have large pads.
Size and contact arrangement
Kreg lists compatibility with the R3 portable clamp adapter and 300-Series pocket-hole jigs. Confirm the particular jig and working thickness rather than treating the clamp as universal for every pocket-hole system. Contact placement matters on the show face, and pads should be clean. We have not tested resistance to marking or alignment on a specific cabinet material.
Choose a useful starter set
For a first joinery kit, a face clamp is useful only when that assembly method is actually part of the work. A conventional trigger clamp may cover broader fitting duties, while parallel jaws or pipe fixtures cover larger assemblies. Include the jig, screws and drill accessories when budgeting a pocket-hole setup. Owning this clamp alone does not make a complete joinery system.
