Makita documents a three-and-a-quarter-inch width, up to three-thirty-seconds removal per pass and a two-blade cutter head. Maximum capacity is not the starting setting for a delicate adjustment. The spring-loaded stand is a documented feature, while finish quality and straightness remain untested here. Workholding, checking the fit and the intended edge reference matter as much as motor speed.
When the specialist purchase pays its way
For a starter kit, buy only when recurring fitting work requires a personal planer. Include edge care or replacement blades, the supported dust arrangement and appropriate guides. A manual plane can suit another controlled fitting approach, while workshop boards call for a different machine. The K suffix identifies this case package; a bare KP0800 offer should not be assumed to include the same carrying equipment.
