A small compressor for a small demand
MAC100Q should be considered as a light-duty portable supply, not a miniature crew compressor. Makita documents a one-gallon tank and 0.7 CFM delivery at 90 PSI. That can fit suitable intermittent pin or brad work, subject to the tool’s actual air requirements. Check the firing routine as well as the nailer type; a small quiet machine is poor value if it spends the job waiting to recover.
Noise claims do not erase limitations
Makita’s published quiet-series sound figure describes specified conditions rather than a noise measurement in your customer’s room. The compact roll cage and lever-handle drain are useful configuration details for carrying and maintenance. They do not increase delivered air. Compare the actual occupied-site setup, supply and support with the work expected before treating a small package as the answer to every trim task.
An alternative to cordless detail tools
For a carpenter already using a pneumatic detail nailer, this can be a smaller supported supply when the demand fits. For isolated repairs without any air equipment, a cordless pin or brad tool may reduce setup. EC914S and MAC2400 address more substantial delivery requirements and different carrying commitments. Include hose and couplers in the purchase, and verify the current package rather than assuming accessories shown in a photograph are included.
