Best Digital Manifolds for HVAC

Current Fieldpiece SM482V and SM382V start the Job Link comparison; SM480V remains as an older-generation reference. Testo 550s is the compact two-way option; Yellow Jacket TITANMAX adds a touchscreen four-way workflow. Elitech EMG-40V and CPS BMD200A offer other app-connected approaches, with kit contents and vacuum accessories needing careful comparison.

Quick picks

Choose by the task. Read the detailed buying assessment and available full reviews before checking the retailer offer.

The discontinued Yellow Jacket P51-870 has been replaced with TITANMAX 40881. CPS is now identified as BMD200A rather than the broad BLACKMAX family name. Refrigerant suitability must be checked for the exact model and current documentation.

HOW TO CHOOSE

What matters for the work

Two-way versus four-way

A four-way manifold adds a dedicated connection path that may suit evacuation and charging. A compact two-way unit may be easier to carry. Compare your hose setup and existing instruments before treating more valves as an automatic upgrade.

Pressure and vacuum are different

A manifold's pressure display is not automatically a suitable evacuation measurement. Check whether a micron gauge or external vacuum probe is included, how it connects and where the manufacturer's procedure places it.

Buy into the workflow deliberately

Fieldpiece, Testo and CPS have distinct probe and app ecosystems. Check supported accessories, current refrigerant information, device compatibility and included clamps. A bare manifold and a complete wireless kit are different purchases.

Fieldpiece

SM482V SMAN 4-Port Digital Manifold

Best for: Job Link users comparing the current four-port manifold with the older SM480V.

SM482V is the current four-port model listed by Fieldpiece. It is the starting comparison for a new Job Link-centered purchase; the preserved SM480V review remains an older-generation reference.

Current four-port Job Link option: Four. Confirm probes, hoses and the exact approved refrigerants; do not transfer new-model features to SM480V. Compare this configuration with the alternatives below and price the accessories needed for your actual jobs.

Fieldpiece

SM382V SMAN 3-Port Digital Manifold

Best for: Job Link users preferring the current three-port arrangement.

SM382V provides the current three-port comparison. Choose the connection arrangement and complete accessory package required for your work rather than assuming every service kit needs four ports.

Current three-port Job Link option: Three. The three-port layout is not the SM482V four-port evacuation arrangement. Compare this configuration with the alternatives below and price the accessories needed for your actual jobs.

  • Ports: Three
  • Vacuum reading: Built-in micron measurement

Fieldpiece

SM480V SMAN Digital Manifold and Micron Gauge

Best for: Working HVAC/R technicians who want a rugged 4-port manifold with wireless Job Link integration and detailed commissioning/service data.

SM480V is an older-generation model; Fieldpiece currently lists SM482V and SM382V for new-purchase comparison. The Fieldpiece SM480V is a professional 4-port digital refrigerant manifold built for technicians who want pressure, temperature, vacuum and system calculations in one field-ready platform. It combines a large LCD, IP54-rated construction, data logging and direct wireless integration with Fieldpiece's Job Link ecosystem.

The SM480V is one of the strongest choices for HVAC technicians who already work digitally and want a manifold that can become the center of a broader measurement workflow. Its 4-port layout, wireless range, data logging and temperature-compensated tightness testing make it substantially more capable than a basic digital gauge set, although that capability comes with extra size, cost and complexity.

  • 4-port manifold with integrated micron-gauge workflow
  • Up to 1,000 ft line-of-sight wireless range
  • Job Link app integration and reporting

Testo 550s Digital Manifold Kit

Best compact manifold
Best compact manifold

Testo

550s Digital Manifold Kit

Best for: HVAC technicians who want a compact two-way manifold with a configurable Testo probe and app workflow.

The 550s is worth shortlisting if you prefer a smaller two-way manifold and are comfortable choosing the probes around your service workflow. Testo offers several bundles. A model-family name is not proof that the required temperature clamps, vacuum probe or hoses are in the box, so the kit number is part of the buying decision.

Our compact-manifold choice for technicians who want Testo's probe and documentation ecosystem without assuming that every job needs a four-port body. Budget for the complete configuration. For evacuation work, confirm the appropriate vacuum probe is included or purchased separately; do not confuse an evacuation display mode with a built-in micron sensor.

  • Wired and wireless temperature-probe options

Yellow Jacket TITANMAX Digital Manifold 40881

Best touchscreen workflow
Best touchscreen workflow

Yellow Jacket

TITANMAX Digital Manifold 40881

Best for: Technicians who prefer a touchscreen and intend to use the Yellow Jacket or measureQuick documentation workflow.

The TITANMAX is the current Yellow Jacket touchscreen platform to investigate, rather than the discontinued P51-870 in the original shortlist. This review centers on the 40881 configuration described in the current specification sheet. Its case is a graphical four-way manifold workflow with an external vacuum sensor and a path to logged records.

Our touchscreen-workflow candidate for technicians who want a four-way block and prefer a large graphical interface. It is not automatically the best choice for every technician: consider the complete kit and how you work with the display. We have not tested touch response with gloves, outdoor readability or field battery endurance.

Elitech EMG-40V Digital Manifold

App-connected alternative
App-connected alternative

Elitech

EMG-40V Digital Manifold

Best for: Technicians who want an Elitech app-connected workflow and will verify the exact bundle and operating limits.

The EMG-40V belongs on a shortlist for a technician interested in Elitech's app and graphical measurement workflow. The model and bundle need care: the original candidate was shortened to EMG-40, while current product listings distinguish EMG-40V configurations. Do not infer included vacuum equipment from the family name alone.

An app-connected alternative worth investigating if the complete configuration matches your jobs. We would confirm the current manual, accessory list and phone compatibility before using price as the deciding factor. The manufacturer describes recording and graph functions, but we have not tested the software, sensor response or field reliability.

OPTION 7
CPS BMD200A BLACKMAX Wireless Digital Manifold

Best for CPS users
Best for CPS users

CPS

BMD200A BLACKMAX Wireless Digital Manifold

Best for: Technicians building around CPS tools or a compatible measureQuick workflow who want an identifiable current manifold configuration.

BLACKMAX is a product family, not a sufficiently precise model for a useful review. This shortlist now uses the current BMD200A, a four-valve connected manifold supplied with wired temperature clamps. Its strongest reason to investigate is fit with a CPS-oriented kit, rather than a vague comparison with every digital manifold sold under the BLACKMAX name.

Our CPS-ecosystem candidate for technicians wanting a configurable display and connected readings. The supplied temperature clamps are wired; wireless clamps are a separate purchase. We would also check the required vacuum gauge arrangement separately. This is a research-based selection, without live app pairing or independent field-performance measurements.

  • Exact current BMD200A kit identity

BUYING QUESTIONS

Before you choose

Do all digital manifolds include a micron gauge?

No. Some use an integrated vacuum measurement and others require a separate probe or accessory. Read the exact kit contents; do not assume a pressure sensor measures deep vacuum adequately.

Are these automatically suitable for A2L refrigerants?

Do not infer suitability from a digital display or refrigerant library. Check the manufacturer's current approval and instructions for the exact instrument, hoses and refrigerant, and use the required training and equipment.

Why replace the P51-870?

Yellow Jacket marks P51-870 discontinued. TITANMAX is the current touchscreen platform evaluated here, with its own specifications and accessories.

Which is best if I already use wireless probes?

Start with the ecosystem you already own, then verify model-specific compatibility. Reusing supported probes and a familiar reporting routine may matter more than a longer feature list.
